Recode: Apple’s new home appliances platform QLink seems like it will be disappearing soon.
The company announced last week that it was ceasing to offer its products as an official platform and instead selling the technology as an open-source project.
It also confirmed that it would no longer be releasing devices in the form of a kit or a device itself, and instead focus on licensing its technology.
But, at the same time, it said it would continue to support the open-sourcing model.
“We’ve always been open to sharing our platform and tools, so we’re committed to continuing to provide you with access to our tools and our platform,” the company wrote on its blog.
“It’s clear that we need to focus on making sure that all of our tools are accessible to you, so in the future we’re also looking to create a platform for you to build and run your own products.”
